Hanging on the dock on the bay
After 5 days traveling throughout the Canadian Rockies by train now we head east stateside
The next couple of days we will be riding on the California Zephyr.
Departing San Francisco in Emeryville to Chicago. This is also one of the world’s great train trips.
We will travel over farmland, prairie, deserts, rivers and mountains.
This is the way Western pioneers came, as did gold prospectors, the Pony Espress and the first long distance telegraph line. This is the same tracks as the 1869 transcontinental rail route
Many people take this 2,438 mile journey just to explore the Rocky Mountains but their much more to see.
We will to and compare to two spectacular rides
Oh and almost forgot had two great meals here.
