My morning walk throughout historic Fredericksburg and visited the home and Ferry Farm of Mary Washington and her grave site.
This is where George grew up I didn’t find any cherry trees.
I met and talked with landscaper Mr. Samuel he has worked here at the Kenmore farm for over 40 years and his family goes back to the 1820’s and planted some of these trees
I ask politely if his family were slaves back then and he smiled and said “No Sir”
After all that walking I sat down for a complementary breakfast at the Kenmore Inn.
I didn’t leave a Washington dollar but two Lincoln’s.
